Hi Norm, I live in Parkes, central New South Wales,Australia. I’ve only just heard about you (long story but I basically missed the whole 1980’s and 1990’s music) so wondering if you could please advise what album of your stuff to get so I can hear what you’re all about. I love beat; rythm; drums and bass; I love the music with the World Cup in 200 seconds clip. Hopefully I can catch up on the music I missed years ago! Thanks for your time. cheers from Janet Looby (it’s Irish) (and yes I’m old . . . ish (48). Cya !
The music on that clip is me under the name of the urban allstars called “it began in africa’ that came out in about 1988. If you like that stuff perhaps check out beats international. A band I was in about that time…

your sincerly
3,14…
See Dil’s answer or work it out. (it’s only 2 chords!)
what movies did you have your song right here right now in
I have no idea, perhaps other people might know. I don’t know of that tune being in a film. Anyone?
it’s been used at the end of “there’s only one Jimmy Grimble” in the final football match in the film. That scene makes the film, one of my favourites. And it’s still used at the city of manchester stadium when the players run out before the match and makes the atmosphere in that stadium immense.
oh i thought it was in a movie i watched it before and it had your song in it no actually the beat of it
Hi Norman,
First i wanna thank you that you always provide us with your great music. And you do not seem to get tired. Go on.
My question is, when the shop will be ready?? You wrote in a response that there will be soon the chance to buy a USB Stick at Clapham! Is there a way to get one of them, even if i am not at Clapham?
Thanks
It’s ready now!
Anyone can pre-order the USB, it will be shipped out just after the gig.
Hi Norman
Loved the set at Giants Park back in May and looking forward to seeing u again somwhere. Just wondering why u aren’t playing at planet love in Belfast in September anymore?
Cheers
I am playing planet love on 11th september I think….. it’s in the Gigs section
If I may, can I just like to clear that one up for all those that think you’re not playing. The original flyer had you on it. Then the next one didn’t have you on it. Low and behold, you’re on the final one.
This did confuse a lot of us fans out here. Hope that makes sense to all.
HI Norm, could you please tell me how can I download more of your sets ? Thank you!
I really don’t know how file sharing works and I’m told it is illegal so I couldn’t possibly encourage you in that direction!
I am sorry i didn’t made myself clear i am willing to buy your sets but i haven’t found any place on the web to do that
Hy Norm,
i have to say it again again and again:
YOU ARE MY MAN!!!

all the best to you and your family!!
m!ka
Thanks mika, see you on clapham common
What do you think of Nu-Funk?
Same as the old funk
All funk is da bomb!
Hi Norm, when you recorded the song “Praise you”, what key was the piano part in? I’ve always loved that song and would like to be able to have the written notes or sheet music to practice it.
Please email me back,
Cheers.
See Dil’s answer below…
Hi Norman,
Do you still have or use your old Atari?
I still have it and I still use that and my trusty s-950’s for writing everything!
Hi,
I really love the song Don’t Let The Man Get You Down and i want to play it on piano. But i can t find some piano notes or “how to” video or video of someone who play this cool song on piano. Please can you help me?
As far as remember it went f-c-g but you would need someone who can read music to write it out for you. Can anyone help?
Hi, Bit of an obscure question but,What was the first club you opened in Brighton? My step dad (Robert Forsyth) reckons he did the electrics in there for you…..while having his leg in plaster!!! I know he exaggerates alot but I still can’t tell the difference between fact an fiction. He says he put in all these gadgets for you with lights that make whooshing noises, and Tony Hadley sang on the opening night.. Anyway thanks for your time. Lynn Davies
I haven’t really opened any clubs, I just play at them. The first club I worked at was the brighton belle but I don’t remember any whooshing noises and I definitely don’t remember tony hadley. Actually I also worked at a club called the yard at a club called the street and spandau ballet did come for an after party there?
Hi Norman,
Which of your song has an african american dancing on a street and the people come and watch him and talk about him saying that the man lost his wife and that he danced on that particular day from sunrise to sunset to bring back his wife ??
That’s Days Go By from Dirty Vegas
Ishat, I have no idea what you are talking about but it sounds like a great scenario! Does anyone else have any idea?
I’m pretty sure that is a song called ‘Days Go By’, by another artist named Dirty Vegas. Sounds like it at least!
Actually, it’s Dirty Vegas – Days Go By
Hi norman, hope all is well! you’ve prob been asked this loads, but what advice would you give a young dj trying to break into the scene. ive been working in a local nightclub for 4 years. its not a big club and wanna make the step up to the bigger clubs in my area, is it a case of “who u know”
any advice would be great, thanks for your time
J
It’s a case of blagging, bullshitting and getting yourself noticed, it’s not who you know, it’s who you are…..
have you been one hundred percent sober since you’ve ‘given up’ drinkin? let me know if you need some demons withered away
Yes 100% thank you for asking. Yes many of my demons have gone and I have a brand new outlook on life, love and music. I can get out of bed in the morning with a smile on my face!
you missed the pun in your own work, someone’s not reading in between the lines!
Hey Norman, I bet that this is a question that has been asked to you an infinite number of times and for that I apologize. How does a complete beginner get into DJ-ing? Should I practice on some computer programs first, like Virtual DJ and ACID? I love listening to this kind of music and I am a creative person so I would like to make some it as well.
It may be a bit of a vague question but any answer would be greatly appreciated.
Dean
No one is quite sure right now if the future of DJ’ing involves cds or just computer programs playing sound files. I suspect the latter. I would recommend the vestax spin controller, only £199 if you have a laptop. It’ll allow you to play all the tunes in your Itunes and loop and filter them, add fx etc…..

Hi Norm
Is it possible to get your “yellow smiley logo” in higher resolution, i would like to make a wallpaper for my desktop! Would be great!
Greets from Switzerland
claudio
(who’s still listening to your records/mixes almost everyday while driving my wrx)
What a sound idea, you can download it from HERE
I think there will be more Wallpapers on the SW4 USB which you can pre-order from the shop.
Thanks a lot!
do yo know Stuart Price? have you ever worked with him?
I used to know him quite well when he was jaques le cont. he was signed to wall of sound and we did many shows together dj’ing but I’ve never been in the studio with him
You may have been asked this excessively, but of all the tracks you’ve made or remixed, which is your favourite, and which would you recommend somebody new to your music listen to?
Hell, I don’t know. probably my greatest hits?
